Types of guardS

In hashguard, you will get 3 ways to guard your wallet: another person with his wallet, an hardware wallet like Ledger and third party guardians.

Get a real guardian

If you are are using the Hashguard's wallet, we have to give you some ways to get your wallet back if you forgot your password. That's why Hashguard created the Guardian, that can help you get back your account and files. It will be like a real person that you will use like a tutor.

Hardware wallet

If you have an hardware wallet like Ledger, we propose you not to connect it directly to our Dapp, as accessing our Dapp only with a Ledger would slow down your flow. Instead we propose you to use it as a guardian. You lost your keys ? Connect your ledger to the Dapp and the recovery will start.

Multifactor authentication

You will get access to new way to authenticate yourself and verify with much more security than a password: SMS validation, external authenticators like google auth, etc...

How to be a guardian

If you want to help your family and friends using Hashguard and you are a web3 user, you can be the best guardian possible. What can be better than trusting a friend instead of a unknown third party ? We want to incentive you to be fully on control of you data, and be a guardian of others is typically what can bring that to the world.

So as a web3 user, you can choose to be the guardian of a more classical user that want to use our solutions. You will be one of his contact to help him get back his wallet if he forgot the credentials. You also can be like a second verifier for the transactions if you think your friend can make some mistakes on the blockchain.

You will get some incentives for choosing to help a web2 user, even if he is already on the website.
